Ziverge, with a team of five, successfully delivered a comprehensive project for a leading e-commerce services customer to develop Eve, a key component of their Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform. The project involved creating a real-time decision engine for risk assessment, feature extraction and aggregation, internal and external data enrichments, consumer identity matching, and developing a rule editor, all aimed at enhancing the customer's ability to offer efficient and frictionless payment solutions.

Context

The challenge for Ziverge was to develop a system that could rapidly and accurately assess risk for the customer’s BNPL platform, a growing sector in financial services. The platform needed to process transactions securely and efficiently, manage default risks, and comply with regulatory standards. The complexity of the project was amplified by the necessity of real-time decision-making, integration with multiple data sources, and the requirement for a system that could scale with the increasing volume of transactions.

Solution

Ziverge’s solution encompassed several key components: a real-time decision engine capable of processing API calls for risk checks, a feature extraction module to analyze transaction properties, and a system for both internal and external data enrichments to enhance risk assessment. The team also implemented a consumer identity matching system and a configurable rule editor. They utilized technologies like OpenJDK, Scala, ZIO, MongoDB, Kafka, and AWS services, ensuring the system was robust, scalable, and compliant with GDPR and other regulations.
