The Question Effect Can't Answer Alone
Effect is no longer a framework you evaluate. It's one you adopt. With twenty million weekly downloads and production deployments at Zendesk, MasterClass, X, OpenCode, T3Chat, and Vercel — and with Effect now the clear successor to fp-ts — the technical case is closed. The question enterprises are asking today isn't whether Effect is ready. It's who helps them get it right.
Until now, that question didn't have a credentialed answer.
Why the Gap Existed
Effectful made the right call: build the product, not a services organization. Their focus belongs on the runtime, Effect Cluster, and the roadmap — the things that make Effect worth using in the first place. A services arm would pull focus from exactly that.
But that choice left a real gap. Enterprise teams need implementation help before they commit a critical system to a new framework. They need training they can trust. They need engineers who can work inside their codebase during adoption, and commercial support when something breaks. That demand was already arriving at Effectful's door. There was nowhere to send it.
Why Ziverge
Ziverge isn't a cold pick for this role.
Effect's TypeScript design drew directly on ZIO — the Scala effect system I created. The choices that define Effect's developer experience — typed errors, fibers, environment-based dependency injection, resource safety — have ZIO in their DNA. Michael Arnaldi and the Effectful team built something remarkable with that foundation. The community calls me the "grandfather of Effect." I keynoted Effect Days. The precedent for Ziverge collaborating across functional ecosystems goes back to our 2021 partnership with Matechs on TypeScript.
None of that is manufactured for an announcement. It's the actual history.
To be clear: Effect's success belongs to Michael, Effectful, and its contributors. Ziverge's role is to help the ecosystem around it mature.
The Partnership
Today, Ziverge becomes Effect's first Global Premier Partner. Concretely, that means an Effect workshop built and endorsed by the team that created the framework, open-source contributions back to the Effect ecosystem — starting with the Golem SDK for Effect — and a commercial services layer for enterprise teams: implementation, team extension, and support.
Why TypeScript, Why Now
Ziverge started in Scala. That hasn't changed — we still invest heavily in ZIO and the Scala ecosystem.
But the center of gravity in production functional programming is moving toward TypeScript and Rust. Coding agents have made both languages far more approachable to teams that would have stayed away, and the engineers who spent a decade building production systems on ZIO are now the most qualified people available to help TypeScript teams do the same thing with Effect.
This is the right time to move decisively into that space. Ziverge is doing that.
What We Offer
Implementation & Consulting. Hands-on Effect adoption for your production codebase — stack assessment, migration design, and implementation. The depth here comes from building effect systems in production for over a decade, for clients including Disney, DHL, and Credit Karma.
Team Extension. Embed a Ziverge engineer in your team. They work in your repos, your ceremonies, and your review process. Your engineers build Effect fluency by working next to someone who already has it, under lead-level ownership standards from day one.
Workshop. The first cohort runs September 10–11, 2026 — reserve your seat. It covers fibers, typed errors, dependency injection, scheduling, resource safety, and agent-native workflows. It's the only Effect workshop endorsed directly by Effectful — the team that built the framework. The materials are designed to be used inside a coding agent, because that's how engineers actually work now.
Open-Source & Commercial Support. Ongoing backing for teams running Effect in production, including access to Ziverge's idiomatic Golem SDK for Effect — Effect Schema-based, decorator-free — which makes Golem a clean, durable runtime target for Effect developers.
